Since we (Carine and Damien) started The Conscious Plant Kitchen in 2019, we’ve always decided to keep a complete independence from brands. So unlike many other food blogs, you will not find a single sponsored post.
You might have already read how we make recipes, this page is there to explain how we sustain our website.
Independence
The recipes we publish on the Conscious Plant Kitchen are what we decide to make in complete freedom.
- We don’t work with brands and we don’t accept gifts in exchange for mentions or links.
- We don’t make sponsored recipes (these recipes where a brand like a flour brand asks to be featured left, right, and center).
- We don’t accept guest posts that are just opportunities for brands to insert links
As a result, if you see a product in a photo or video, it’s only because we use it and like it. It never was and never will be paid advertising.
Advertising
To sustain our website (hosting costs, recipe ingredient costs, etc.), our primary income is advertising. This is done through an ad company, Raptive. We’ve been working with them since the beginning because we believe they have the highest ethical standard of all ad companies.
Affiliate Links
Our secondary income source is through affiliate links to Amazon. This is done through links in the ingredients of our recipes.
In the vast majority of cases, we link to ingredients we actually use. Occasionally, we propose a very similar alternative when the product we use is not available widely.
These affiliate links work by giving us a commission (typically about 2%) on what people actually purchase on Amazon after clicking the links.
Recipe Reviews
We decided in mid-2024 that we would not authorize votes without reviews on our recipes anymore. As a result, it’s now always necessary to publish a review when rating a recipe. This is to ensure a level of trust in these ratings.
We use an anti-spam tool to catch comment spam and we moderate all comments before posting them. Because of this, you might not see your comments immediately. We might also not publish your question if the answer is already in the post, if it’s offensive, or misleading.
