Popcorn is a low-calorie filling snack, but protein popcorn is even more nourishing, packed with 12 grams of protein per serving and only 96 Calories.
It’s quick snack time! Picture this: you want to watch TV, but you don’t want empty calories. Popcorn is the classic treat, but you don’t want all the salt or sugar of ready-made popcorn. And you want some protein, if possible.
When I find myself there, I make my protein popcorn. It’s popcorn with protein powder! It’s a great alternative to Protein Trail Mix or Banana Protein Balls and it’s ready in under 5 minutes!
Ingredients and Substitutions
- Popping Corn – There are many different kinds of popping corn, with varying kernel sizes. I go for the more organic and non-GMO ones.
- Vanilla Protein Powder – Pick your favorite protein powder, I use either NuZest or MacroMike.
- Cinnamon – For flavor.
- Oil Spray – To allow the protein powder to stick to the popcorn.
